History and
interesting facts

San Martino is a historic brand paired with an exclusive prosciutto that Levoni started producing in the 60s.

Organoleptic
properties

The slice is rosy red, with white or pinkish-white fat, the covering fat is white and firm. The aroma is delicate and can become more persistent if the product is very matured. The taste is well balanced between the sweet note and the typical fragrances of matured meat, with the result of a very round, especially pleasant gustatory sensation.

Once the fat has been properly trimmed away, cut the prosciutto into very thin slices by means of a slicer or by hand. The art of knife cutting remains always spectacular.

Pairing and Wines

In the world of white wines - in honor of the drumlins - this sweet, round prosciutto can be paired with a fresh, fruity, interesting Lugana or a slightly less aromatic Custoza. For lovers of red wines, Cabernet and Merlot are to be taken in absolute consideration..
In addition to the traditional combinations with melon, figs and burrata (filled, spun-curd cheese), we recommend to taste it with savoury croissants: their soft dough heightens the good taste of this deli meat. If you choose breadsticks, make sure they are rustic, crumbly, but with a certain thickness. Instead, for those who cannot renounce the cheeses the prosciutto is excellent both with robiola and with spicy provolone (not too hot): the maturation will marry perfectly with its softness.
