“Frankfurter” fish

  • 200 g of flour
  • 50 g of butter
  • 50 g of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of yeast for quiches
  • 1 egg yolk
  • .5 teaspoons of salt
  • .5 tsp of sugar
  • 2 frankfurters not too big
  • 1 large boiled potato
  • 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese
  • a pinch of salt

These strange fishes are living in faraway seas and are difficult to catch, because they know they are so delicious! Ask your helper to give you a hand to prepare the ingredients and boil the potatoes. First of all you must prepare the dough. Pour into a bowl the flour with the salt, sugar and baking powder; then add the butter in small pieces and start working it pinching it with your fingertips so that it is covered with flour and it forms many crumbs. Whisk the egg yolk with milk and then pour all on the flour mixture, then with the help of a fork begin to knead everything. If you are unable to work the dough with a fork pour it on the cutting board and knead it with your hands, form into a ball, wrap once in the plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator while you will prepare the filling. Smash the potatoes in a bowl with a fork, add the chopped frankfurters, a good pinch of salt, the cheese and mix well. Divide the dough in two, lay the first on the cutting board lightly floured and work it with the rolling pin until you have a rectangle. Put in the centre half of the filling, fold in half and cut out the shape of a fish with a small knife or even better with a pastry cutter wheel. With cutouts you can decorate your franfurter fish. Proceed similarly with the rest of the dough, by asking your helper to take care of the cooking in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Once ready let them cool before serving them to your friends.
