Puff pastry candies with frankfurter and spinaches

Ingredients
  • 1 sheet of ready to use puff pastry squares
  • 200 g of boiled spinaches, well drained
  • 1 big frankfurter
  • 60 g of Asiago cheese
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • Sesame and poppy seeds

First of all your helper should boil and squeeze the spinaches: once cold, put them in a bowl and flavour them with a good pinch of salt. Cut the frankfurter into three equal parts, then each piece in half lengthwise. the Asiago cheese must be divided into six pieces. Roll out the pastry and ask your helper to cut it into six equal squares. Take the first rectangle, place it on the cutting board, put a tiny bit of spinaches, a piece of cheese, frankfurter  and cover with another bunch of spinach. Brush around the stuffing with a beaten egg. Roll up everything forming a kind of salami, then press the dough together to form a kind of wrapped candy. Proceed similarly with the remaining candies, then place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush them with the beaten egg. If you want you can sprinkle them also with poppy seeds or sesame seeds. Ask your helper to cook them in the oven at 200° degrees for 15-20 minutes.
