Levoni fresh meat
Levoni fresh meat
Levoni fresh meat is guaranteed and certified from its origins. The only supplier is the Mec Carni abattoir, one of the most modern and internationally renowned facilities, which is specialised in the slaughtering and cutting of pork.

The abattoir is owned by Levoni and is certified in compliance with norm UNI 10939:01 (food chain traceability system). Due to this system, an efficient control of the entire chain is applied thereby creating an identity card for the product. Indeed, all the steps from pig farm to final customer are recorded in detail.

Meat comes from heavy pigs bred and slaughtered in Italy, raised in safe and controlled farms that comply with the regulations established by the norms governing animal welfare.

Levoni selects all meat cuts arriving from its abattoir and accurately prepares them for sale; furthermore, it offers customised services to meet its customers' needs and requests.

The main cuts bearing the Gran Suino Padano PDO (GSP, i.e. Italian heavy pig) mark are listed in the "Carne Fresca Levoni" catalogue.

Starting from March 2006, all fresh and refrigerated meat cuts, such as necks, loins, legs, shoulders, bellies, throats, lards and all other cuts obtained from slaughtering Gran Suino Padano PDO pigs, are guaranteed and certified in compliance with a strict regulation governing their origin.

Gran Suino Padano pigs are animals that reach the weight of around 160 kg between nine and fifteen months of age.
These pigs are subject to careful controls from the first weeks of life and follow a diet primarily constituted by cereals and milk by-products.
